Kura, the UK’s largest shared transport and technology specialist, has partnered with CheckedSafe, the leading vehicle compliance and fleet management system, for a no-compromises approach to passenger safety – beginning before passengers even board.

By bringing together Kura’s expertise in passenger safety when wheels are in motion with CheckedSafe’s unrivalled compliance and monitoring the partnership delivers a holistic, market-leading passenger safeguarding and vehicle compliance package for education and business customers.

The CheckedSafe technology will ensure all Kura customers operating their own vehicles benefit from fleet and vehicle management checks exceeding statutory and self-imposed standards. CheckedSafe are a provider of Software Services on the DVSA Earned Recognition scheme. The system is fully compliant in line with the DVSA Guide to Roadworthiness and, when used correctly, provides organisations with a legally defensible product.

The solution offers drivers a comprehensive compliance system with customisable defect checks, and by completely digitising the vehicle defect card enables them to carry out and report on their vehicle checks directly from a smartphone. Checks can be conducted from anywhere, at any time, including if a driver has no signal. All vehicle compliance checks are stored in a secure CMS, ready for review by staff. The system also boasts a host of features to enable end users to go 100% paper-free for their fleet management.

For school or corporate transport teams, the CheckedSafe vehicle management portal allows for easy reporting, rectification and monitoring of any defects, PMI, Job Cards, the scheduling and notification of vehicle maintenance and inspections and now the ability to check Driver Licences.

Godfrey Ryan, CEO of Kura, said: “We already offer customers an unmatched way to enhance their transport offering, both for schools running a home-to-school transport service or businesses operating their own staff shuttles. Kura is dedicated to delivering the strongest passenger safety solution and that is rightly what our customers expect of us. After an extensive review of the available products, plus evaluating self-build options, it became clear that the CheckedSafe is well ahead of anything else in the market and implementation with trial customers has been seamless.”

Gary Hawthorne, Director at CheckedSafe, said: “Partnering with Kura is an exciting development for CheckedSafe because both companies share the same vision of developing great technology that is easy to use, but most importantly, supports safer transport for children and employees. We have already combined for new customers through our relationship with Kura and are excited to grow with them into the future.
