Business Development Manager (Education)

Employment type – Permanent

Location – Head Office Maidenhead, Berkshire / Home Working / with UK travel to meet clients as required

Reporting line – CEO

Salary – Up to £45,000 + £25,000 OTE commission and bonus scheme (uncapped) + £5,000 car allowance

The Role

This role will be responsible for the development of new business within our Education sector.

Key responsibilities include:

Business development with new education customers – activities to include:

  • Territory Management
  • Identification of additional customers and potential new opportunties
  • Selling Kura product and services
  • Demonstrating Kura Software
  • Pipeline management
  • Closing new business opportunities
  • CRM administration (customer data maintenance)
  • Contract administration including associated documents for the tender process

Marketing activities to include:

  • Support on campaign design, focus and implementation
  • Proactive and regular reviews of marketing activity in terms of effectiveness and impact

Internal liaison with the Operations Team – activities to include:

  • The provision of high-quality implementation briefs to Projects & Implementation,Service Delivery and Operator Engagement
  • Ongoing support for query resolution

Any other duties as required from time to time

The Person

Our ideal candidate is a graduate and someone who has experience of working within the education sector and/or in the transport industry (although not essential). Proven experience of B2B business development is essential as well as the ability to influence decision making at various levels of users and buyers. The candidate must show high levels of self motivation and a determination to succeed. Previous management experience is desirable (although not essential) as this role is likely to grow into a management position in 6-12 months.

  • Interest in, and be comfortable with, selling software tools and technology
