Chigwell School, a leading co-educational independent day and boarding school in Essex and transport technology specialists Kura continue to team up to drive improvements to the school run.

The two organisations have been in partnership since 2018 with Kura technology and management supporting the school’s six home to school routes covering the surrounding areas of Stratford, Epping, Woodford, Loughton, Chingford and more. The Kura service supports delivery of the school’s safeguarding procedures and mission to ensuring all pupils are cared for throughout the day. Parents can track the service in real-time via the Kura app to ensure they meet their children at the home stop at the correct time and a push notification that triggers when their child arrives safely at school delivers peace of mind.

The service is testament to Chigwell School’s motto “Aut viam inveniam aut faciam” which means “Find a way or make a way”, allowing around 100 students to travel safely and securely between the school site and their homes every weekday.
Jayne Burton, Director of Marketing and Admissions at Chigwell School says, “Kura’s technology and services allow Chigwell School to offer our pupils a safer, greener, smarter school run”.”

“We welcome Kura’s ability to react quickly to changes including making updates to ensure the service information assets reflect our new school branding that launched last year.”

Kura reacted to a brief from Chigwell last summer – ensuring the home to school service webpage, interactive timetables and route mapping matched the updated Chigwell School brand identity – a clearer representation of the unique values the school staff and students embody.

Kura and the school have recently made changes to the routes to better serve both existing and new pupils at the school – proving that the partnership provides the flexibility in capacity and routing to accommodate new school joiners who cannot easily access existing stops.

Godfrey Ryan, CEO at Kura says, “We are delighted with our continued relationship with Chigwell School. We hold a remarkably similar ethos with both of us counting “innovation” as a core value within our mutual success.

“We’re keen to continue developing the partnership to ensure the service continues to prosper and encourage more and more students out of low occupancy cars in the peak and onto more sustainable transport solutions for the morning and evening school run.”

Kura continues to play its part in supporting Chigwell School in delivering its vision – “To inspire our pupils to fulfil their potential and forge their own path to success.”
